Bikers Rally in Memory of Fallen Motorcyclist

RALEIGH — More than a hundred bikers roared between Raleigh and Durham to honor a fallen friend.

Pete Hicks died Saturday night when his motorcycle hit a tree that had been cut and laid across Munn Road in south Granville County.

Tuesday, biker friends of Hicks gathered in Raleigh and rode together to a memorial service in Durham. They came to honor Hicks and offer support to his wife and six-year-old daughter.

"We, as a group, are here to support Denise and her family. More than anything, we need to concentrate on that and let the police concentrate on who did it," says friend Steve Small.

TheState Bureau of Investigationand the Granville County Sheriff's Department are investigating.

A trust fund has been established for Pete Hick's daughter Lindsey.
