Blue Cross Blue Shield Members To Receive Discount On Laser Eye Surgery

Starting in August,Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Carolinamembers can get a 40 percent discount on laser eye surgery. The company says it is teaming up with eye doctors across the state to make it happen.

"Through using our collective bargaining power of the Blue Cross customer base in negotiating withOpticare, they are absorbing the discount and it is costing our customers nothing," says John Roos of Blue Cross Blue Shield.

The surgery usually costs about $4,400. Blue Cross Blue Shield customers who go to one of the doctors on the list will only pay $2,800.
