DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police are investigating a two-vehicle collision on eastbound Interstate 40 East near Miami Boulevard, which caused traffic slowdowns Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. when one of the vehicles caught fire and ended up against the Jersey barrier.
Two people were taken to a local hospital, but the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, a Durham Police Department spokeswoman said.
The accident is still under investigation.
