Makazi Matingwa, a student at N.C. State, testified that Grundyattacked her in her Avent Ferry apartment in January. Grundy says Matingwaattacked him in a jealous rage and that he never laid a finger on her. Thejudge sided withGrundy.
Grundy says he is sorry about the pain the ordeal has caused topeople in his life.
"I apologize to the university, my team thecoaches and friends for being put in theposition that they have," he says.
This is not the first time Matingwa has filedcharges against an N.C. State athlete.She was also accused a football player ofassaulting her. Those charges were dismissed.
