RALEIGH — A father and son were injured in an apparent revenge shooting Saturday when two men walked into a Wilson backyard and fired over 15 shots into a group of people.
Police arrested 25-year-old Kevin Ray Joiner Saturday night. He was charged with two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill. The other suspect, Terrence Lavar Watson, 21, of Wilson, is still at large.
William Pickett, Jr., 49, is being treated for several gunshot wounds to the chest and shoulder. His wounds are not considered to be life-threatening. His son, 26-year-old, William Pickett III had minor wounds on his leg. He was treated and released from the hospital.
A neighbor told WRAL that he believed the shooting was in retaliation for an early-morning argument.
