Wilson County authorities are releasing more information about what they are calling an illegal cockfighting ring.

Investigators say 26-year-old Alejandro Rico Pineda shot 27-year-old Rosendo Raygoza on Feb. 5 at an illegal cockfight near Sims.

Authorities have put out a nationwide alert to try to find Pineda. Plus, deputies have recovered a home video with similar cockfights, involving many of the same people. The video was shot prior to the day of the murder.

Investigators are looking to identify other people in the home video. Authorities also recovered many pieces of evidence, including scales, steroid needles and sharp spurs, all used for cockfighting.

Sheriff Wayne Gay said the event brought out 40 to 50 people at a time and they bet on the fights. Organizers charged admission and sold food and beer.

Authorities have arrested James Flowers, who owns the property where the cockfights were held. Anyone with any information about Pineda's whereabouts is urged to contact the Wilson County Sheriff Office.
