NC Wanted Helps to Nab Fugitive

Posted June 12, 2007

— After three years on the run, a wanted man is in jail, thanks to viewers of the TV show, NC Wanted.

The Wake County Sheriff's office captured Juan Gayton-Barbosa. In April, NC Wanted profiled his case.

Gayton-Barbosa is an illegal immigrant wanted for shooting a woman and leaving her to die in 2004. A tip from a viewer helped police find the suspect.

It marks the second time NC Wanted has been creditted with the apprehension of a fugitive. Earlier in June, Clayton Levi was apprehended in Cumberland County. He faces several faces, including failing to register as a sex offender and violating parole.

NC Wanted airs at 10:35 p.m. Saturdays on Fox 50.

Illegals - performing the crimes Americans won't do. See why they're needed here?

I don't understand why illegal aliens that are committing crimes like this are not detained and turned over to immigration for deportation. Instead they are released on a bond and then they flee. It should have been known that a person convicted or charged with a crime as such is going to run at first chance. There is no real way for the police to track them. If he does not want to be found or gets sloppy. They change their names and assume others identity at the drop of a hat. A better system needs to be created.

Great job on the TV show, now if you could just learn to review what you write before you publish it.

If they really want to catch a large group of criminals they should show up with several buses at the next "viva le mehico" parade or protest.
