RALEIGH, N.C. — After three years on the run, a wanted man is in jail, thanks to viewers of the TV show, NC Wanted.

The Wake County Sheriff's office captured Juan Gayton-Barbosa. In April, NC Wanted profiled his case.

Gayton-Barbosa is an illegal immigrant wanted for shooting a woman and leaving her to die in 2004. A tip from a viewer helped police find the suspect.

It marks the second time NC Wanted has been creditted with the apprehension of a fugitive. Earlier in June, Clayton Levi was apprehended in Cumberland County. He faces several faces, including failing to register as a sex offender and violating parole.

NC Wanted airs at 10:35 p.m. Saturdays on Fox 50.
