CHAPEL HILL — July 31, 1996 - 4:30 p.m. EDT

Police dusted books for fingerprints after pro-Nazi fliers were found in books at a Chapel Hill bookstore.

Fliers proclaiming :Hitler Was Right" were found in about 50 books at the Intimate Book Shop in Eastgate Shopping Center. The fliers were discovered Saturday after a customer complained about finding one in a childen's book.

Store owner Wallace Kuralt says the staff checked books at the Intimate in downtown Chapel Hill but found no fliers at that location.

Kuralt told WRAL-TV5'sMark Robertsthat he supoprts free speech, but he called the planting of fliers in books a "cowardly" act.

The fliers say ``Hitler Was Right'' and list nine reasons for supporting the dictator's views. A Chapel Hill police spokeswoman says they were published by an organization called New Order in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

While Kuralt says he knows of someone he thinks might have done this, police have no suspects. They also say the don't know exactly what a suspect would be charged with.

Earlier this year, books at a UNC-Chapel Hill library were defaced with swastikas
