RALEIGH, N.C. — A Raleigh police cruiser was involved in a traffic accident late Thursday evening.
According to a police report, the police vehicle, driven by Officer Joshua Zellmer, was traveling south on Dawson Street around 9:45 p.m. when a vehicle driven by Paul Yongo by Raleigh ran a red light at the Hillsborough Street intersection and collided with it. The impact then pushed Yongo's car into another vehicle. The police car came within feet of the entrance of the Hillsborough Place Apartments.
Only minor injuries were reported in the accident. Yongo has been charged with a red light violation and not being accompanied by a licensed driver.
