RALEIGH, N.C. — Some areas of south-central North Carolina saw some very light snow early Thursday morning, mostly in Cumberland County.

At about 11 a.m., there were reports of flakes in Fayetteville, although there was no accumulation,
Earlier in the morning, snow was also reported in other parts of Cumberland County, as well as other areas south of Raleigh. A dusting was reported in at least one area in Cumberland County.
Ground temperatures were above freezing Thursday morning, so any snow that fell quickly melted.
Snow in the Raleigh area is also forecast for the weekend, with a chance of freezing rain with some snow mixed with it on Friday night.
The area could also see some snow on Saturday, but a warm front in the area could keep temperatures above freezing. Like Thursday, any snow would likely not accumulate.
