Little Construction on State Highways for Holiday

Posted Updated

RALEIGH — If you're not letting Hurricane Edouard spoil your holiday travel plans this weekend, you'll want to know where traffic slowdowns are likely to occur.

While North Carolina has restrictions on road construction during holidays, there are a few places to watch for delays.

Of particular concern in the Triangle area is the stretch of Interstate-85 where last week's fatal accident occurred. There is the possibility of slow-moving traffic there.

Others are all in the western part of the state on Interstate-40. There is construction on I-40 West in Haywood County, on the I-40 connector and on I-40 in both directions in McDowell County.
