— Cary police Sunday morning found a 79-year-old man who had been the subject of a search since he walked away from a McDonald's restaurant Saturday afternoon.

Officers said they spotted William M. Talley about 4 a.m. when he was walking away from a wooded area behind the restaurant at  1830 Walnut St., near Crossroads Plaza.

“We’re pleased that we were able to help find Talley and reunite him with his family,” Lt. Randall Rhyne said. Police had spent the night scouring the area where Talley had last been seen.

Talley had wandered away from the restaurant after his wife dropped him off and waited in the parking lot for his return at about 1:30 p.m., police had said.

    To Bloodgod:
There is NO good things about Alzheimer's desease. My mother is suffering from it, and it is no laughing matter. I pray you never have to experience it in your family.

It is SO nice to hear this ended up a great ending that potentially could have been SO much worse. It has been pretty hot out and he is lucky not to mention the other dangers he could of faced. Good Luck to you and your family Mr.Talley.

I didn't say I wasn't happy for the outcome or disturbed by the situation. I am both.

Just trying to stop the onslaught of 'pray' lines in every single story here. Please people... pretty please?

    >>Prayers go up, blessings come down alot of times.

At about the rate of 50%. About the same rate as doing nothing. Stop wasting you time praying and get out there and look for him!!!
