A wrongful death lawsuit filed by a Cary man whose wife died in an 1994 accident at the Jimmy V Classic golf tournament was settled Thursday.

Richard Wilson (pictured with wife and daughter, below right) settled with the tournament and the family of David Sharpe, the Apex teenager who was driving the golf cart in which his wife, Jennifer, was riding.

Jennifer Wilson, 29, fell from the cart as Sharpe made a tight left turn. She hit her head on asphalt and never regained consciousness.

Terms of the settlement were not announced.

The settlement was announced during the second day of testimony in the trial.
