CLAYTON, N.C. — A woman is dead after an early-morning accident in Clayton.
Troopers said Angela Preddy was driving on
Gordon Road
east of Clayton around 1 a.m. when she lost control on a curve. Preddy was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle.
Preddy died shortly afterward. The passenger, Manuel Garcia, is in fair condition at WakeMed.
Authorities have not determined if speed was a factor in the accident, but alcohol was not involved.
