DURHAM, N.C. — A high-speed police chase through the Bull City Friday evening ended with a Jeep inside a house.

According to Durham police, a sport utility vehicle was pulled over during a suspected drug transaction around 9 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Michael Judd of Pine Green Trail in Durham, allegedly fled the scene with police in pursuit.

After a chase with speeds reaching 60 mph, Judd lost control and crashed in the

2100 block of Roxboro Avenue

. Residents of the home compared the impact of the collision to the sound of a bomb.

"All of the sudden, you heard this loud impact that just jolted and shook the house," said resident Linda Godfrey. "We didn't know...we thought it had come inside."

Judd was transported Duke Hospital but was later released. He was charged on multiple counts and has been released on bond. No one else was injured.
