A 24-year-old woman was found dead in her Estes Park apartment yesterday, when police did a routine follow-up on finding her abandoned car.
Heather Dawn Prather lived alone, and worked for both Marriott Corporation, and Gold's Gym. Investigators think she was killed between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. by a lone assailant who then took her car.
The car was found off NC 54 near Hatch Road in a residential area. Police said there was no sign anyone had broken into her apartment or that she had been robbed or sexually assaulted.
Cause of her death is still under investigation.
Apartment residents and her colleagues are being questioned for possible leads in her murder.
