FAYETTEVILLE — May 10, 1996 - 6:20 p.m. EDT
Rescuers pulled the body of a Fort Bragg soldier from a river in Cumberland County Friday.
They found his car submerged in the lower Little River near Spring Lake.
The highway patrol reports the soldier lost control of the car on East Manchester Road, slid down an embankment and crashed upside-down in the water.
The Army has identified the soldier, but has not yet released his name
