FAYETTEVILLE — April 17, 1996 - 12:38 p.m. EDT
A Cumberland County man is charged in connecton with the death of his 4-year-old son.
Last December, Alton McKoy's parents told police the child died after being struck by a car along Highway 210.
While the parents insisted the accident was a hit-and-run, highway patrol investigators had doubts.
After a WRAL-TV5 Crimestoppers report aired, a witness came forward accusing the boy's father of driving the car that struck his son.
Walter McKoy is charged with felonious death by vehicle, driving while impaired and obstructing an investigation
