RALEIGH — April 14, 1996, 3:10 p.m. EST As Raleigh police officer Jonathan Hunt was driving a prisoner to jail Friday night, his car was hit by a gunshot. No one was hurt.
Later, two men were arrested when police determined the bullet had apparently been fired from the Toyota in which the men had been riding. Their car passed the police car in the oncoming lane on Wake Forest Road.
Allen Willis, 23, and Ronald Lewis Robertson, 25, both of Raleigh, were charged with firing into an occupied vehicle. Police found what they believe to be the exit hole of a bullet from behind the driver's side door, and a .38 caliber handgun and six .38 caliber hollow-point rounds inside the men's car.
The bullet left a dent in the police cruiser at dashboard level on the driver's side door
