Church Crimes Leave Some Members Wary

e-mail print friendly

March 28, 1996 - 2:50 p.m. EST

Members of several churches in Robeson County are taking strides toward preventing more crimes at their places of worship.

Some joined together to ask police for a "show of force" during Wednesday night services.

The congregation of the West End Baptist Church in Red Springs was shocked last week by an attack on Pastor Eric Rich during choir practice.

Rich was severely beaten in what police believe was a robbery attempt. He remains at Duke University Medical Center and is currently listed in good condition.

No arrests have been made
