CLAYTON — March 21, 1996 - 5:41 p.m. EST
While Clayton town officials investigated charges of police sexual misconduct, the Town Manager Ralph Clark answered some serious questions Thursday.
Clark confirmed that two women have filed sexual harassment complaints against three Clayton police officers. One alleged encounter, he said, took place while an officer was on duty, while another is said to have happened outside Clayton jurisdiction.
Clark says none of the incidents involved intercourse in patrol cars, but he did not rule out other sexual activity.
If there is to be disciplinary action taken against the officers, it will be determined in two weeks.
Some Clayton residents told WRAL-TV5 reporter Pamela Newby Thursday that the allegations make them feel like the public trust has been violated
