CHATHAM COUNTY — March 14, 1996 - 11:32 a.m. EST
Investigators found five stolen Ford Mustangs and rounded up five suspects Wednesday in connection with what appears to be a major car theft ring.
Investigators say vehicle identification numbers on the vehicles had been altered, but that the culprits were not aware there were other hidden numbers on the cars.
The recovered cars are from Wake, Durham and Orange Counties.
Police say there will be other arrests
