Two people were killed Monday when their car rammed a stopped school bus in Harnett County, authorities said.

None of the approximately 30 children on the bus was injured.

The accident happened between 7 and 7:30 a.m. on Overhills Road north of the Harnett-Cumberland county line. A car with two occupants hit the back of a bus carrying children to Anderson Creek Elementary and South Harnett Primary schools.

According to authorities, some students had just boarded the bus and taken their seats when the collision occurred. The speed limit on the stretch of Overhill Road where the accident occurred is 55 mph, but troopers couldn't say immediately how fast the car was traveling.

The names of the victims have not been released
