ROXBORO — March 1, 1996 - 4:56 p.m. EST
Roxboro residents can breath a bit easier now that three of four dogs suspected of having rabies have been found.
Animal control officers have been looking for the dogs since last week when they attacked and killed a rabid raccoon.
Friday, an officer spotted the three dogs tied up in a woman's back yard. She said she had found them and decided to keep them.
All three will be put to sleep, even though they have not yet contracted the disease.
Officials are still looking for a large, black shaggy dog that was involved in the attack
