If your most recent bill from CP & L was a little steep, even for a very cold month, you may have some money coming back.
Because of January's snow, meter readers for the power company were unable to get out and read meters at about 48,000 homes in areas hit by the storm.
So, CP & L estimated bills based on previous usage. When meters are checked at the affected homes again, those bills will be adjusted.
CP & L says most of the homes affected were in parts of Raleigh, Henderson, Sanford and the western part of the state
