DURHAM — February 10, 1996 - 4:32 p.m. EST
Durham police are investigating that city's fourth murder this year. It came as a result of a fight between a couple living in a Bogarde St. apartment complex.
The violence led to the death of 29-year-old Stephanie Keith.
Police say 32-year-old Maryland Hayes hit Keith with a hammer, then fled the scene and headed towards Virginia.
He reportedly returned Saturday morning and turned himself in to police
