Nuclear Kittens Seek Homes

Posted Updated

SAN ONOFRE, CA — February 10, 1996 - 6:49 p.m.

People interested in adopting one or more kittens might get more than they bargained for with these.

They were born at the San Onofre nuclear power plant in California, and they're radioactive.

Plant workers are vying to adopt one of the litter, but they don't fear for their lives. Health specialists at the plant are taking care of the newborns, and decontaminating them.

By the way, the four felines already have names: Alpha, Beta, Gamma and Neutron
