DURHAM — January 29, 1996 - 11:30 a.m. EST
Investigators still don't know what caused the Sunday afternoon house fire that killed a Durham woman.
Sherry L. Templeton, 40, was killed inside her home at 208 Old Fox Trail in the Woodcroft subdivision in southwest Durham.
A rescue team found the woman at the top of some stairs.
One firefighter was treated at Durham Regional Hospital for burns, then released.
The fire started about 3 p.m. Neighbors saw flames shooting from the house and called the fire department.
One neighbor kicked in a door and searched for Templeton, but he had to flee the burning house because of the smoke and flames
