CHAPEL HILL — Big changes are on the way for Carolina basketball. The team will return to their old fashioned uniforms next season, and when they hit the floor, more students will get a closer look.
Thursday, North Carolina approved a plan which calls for 200 students to be admitted to a standing room only section behind the backboard closest to the Tar Heels bench. It is a move that will help add some energy to the Dean Dome.
"I think our crowd will be more into it because the students will set a tone that the rest of the crowd will not let go unmatched," says longtime Tar Heels sports announcer Woody Durham.
In addition, another section of students will be moved behind the visiting bench.
