RALEIGH — South American countries are known for their love of soccer. Local kids are getting the chance to experience it firsthand.

As part of a cultural exchange, players from the world-renowned Bolivian Tahuichi Soccer Academy are in town to play some local teams.

They matched up with Triangle Futbol Club Wednesday as part of the North Carolina Friendship Tour.

Organizers hope the players can teach others how to play on a world-class level.

"They have one thing we want," says tour organizer George Taratini. "That's passion. That's belief, That's warmth. That's love for what they do."

The Tahuichi Soccer Academy was created to keep the youth of Bolivia off drugs and off the streets.

The team takes on a Carolina United Team Thursday on the Duke Soccer Fields at 7 p.m.
