— A Pinehurst man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the slaying of a Moore County man.

Albert Devonte Brown, 26, of 240 Brookside Road, surrendered to authorities at around 10 a.m.. Investigators said he was involved in the death of Jonathan Elee Grice earlier in May.

Jessica Denise White, Grice's girlfriend, has also been charged with murder. Authorities said White killed Grice before wrapping his body in a car cover and dragging him to a trash pile behind the house.

Investigators found Grice's body, along with charred furniture and clothes, on May 24. Autopsy results state he died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Brown, whom authorities said was also a boyfriend of White, was charged with murder, one count of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

He is being held without bond in the Moore County Detention Center, and his first court appearance is scheduled for June 4.

In many cases "turns himself in" apparently means the cops have found him and cornered him in the back room and will give him the opportunity to surrender before they kick the door down.

It's a shame anytime someone gets killed.

I am sure since Brown was Whites girlfriend at the time of the victims death is obvioiusly the reason he was sought for questioning. Sad for the victims family and I hope White and Brown serve a LONG and well deserved sentence if found guilty.

SO WE'VE GOT THE WHITE GIRL AND THE BROWN MAN AND IT LOOKS LIKE THE GRICE VICTIM WAS SETUP AND ROBBED AND THEN MURDERED...ONE THING I'M STILL WONDERING ABOUT, WHAT MADE THIS GUY TURN HIMSELF IN? DOESNT REALLY ADD UP LIKE THE REST OF THE STORY DOES.

And his momma said "he's really a good boy" (not really, but sometimes mommas say that).

  • Run_Forrest_Run May 29, 2007

Doesn't matter....this guy's dead anyway. You can look at his eyes and see he is a dead man walking. No regret, no remorse, nothing but attitude and "I didnt do nothing wrong" (Double negative on purpose).

What is the purpose of killing someone, is it worth being in prison for the rest of your life. It's time to pray!
