Health Care Workers Needed for Special Olympics

Posted Updated

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK — The Special Olympic World Games medical committee is looking for volunteers to conduct health screenings for Special Olympics athletes.

There will be approximately 7,000 athletes at the games, so they need plenty of volunteers.

"They'll be rendering medical services, mostly first aid, doing evaluations, observation," said Dick Perruzzi, a spokesman for the Special Olympics. "We have different levels of medical care so that we can move an athlete along depending on care needs."
