LILLINGTON — A four-month search for a new Lillington Police Chief has come to an end.

The city's new top cop comes from a nearby city. Fayetteville Police Sergeant Tim Hayworth announced Monday that he accepted Lillington's offer.

Hayworth will begin the new job in two weeks.

Hayworth replaces Hamilton Brown, who resigned in April after he was suspended for an undisclosed disciplinary matter.
