RALEIGH — A mechanical glitch -- not one related to Y2K -- has botched up some state unemployment checks.
Some recipients have received no check, others have received two -- their own and someone else's.
The Employment Security Commission says there was a problem with the stuffer machine. It accidentally put more than one check in some envelopes. Checks are literally sticking together.
Anyone who has missed a check or received a payment intended for someone else is asked to call an unemployment office immediately.
