FAYETTEVILLE — Cumberland County Sheriff Moose Butler has named a person to head his office's Detective Division.
Lt. Jackie Paul was promoted to Captain and is now Chief of Detectives. She replaces Major Ray Davis, who was fired last monthafter several women accused him of sexual harassment.
Paul has been with the Sheriff's Office for more than 20 years. Along with solving crime, the 49-year-old says a top priority will be to bring people together.
"I think it's important that we are all on the same sheet of music, so we can work together," she said. "When there's peace, everything goes smoother."
As theinvestigation into harassment allegationscontinues, some employees are showing their support for Butler by signing a loyalty petition.
