print friendly

People in Chapel Hill are singing a different tune when it comes to the Inauguration.

More than 200 members ofUNC's Marching Tar Heelspacked up their instruments and boarded buses bound for the nation's capital. They will be playing in the inaugural parade on Saturday.

"It is an extreme honor and we all know that. I think it's kind of a bonus really," says band member Gary Mitchell. "We work really hard to support the football and basketball teams and get the fans involved, and this is kind of icing on the cake I guess."

The UNC Marching Tar Heels is the only school band from the state taking part in Saturday's festivities.
