WILSON — Rep. Bob Etheridge spent a little time on the assembly line Thursday in Wilson.
The Democratic congressman took a brief tour of Wilson County's largest employer, the Bridgestone-Firestone plant. The tire problems that prompted last year's massive recall appear to have started at another plant. Etheridge says workers in Wilson are relieved.
"I think these folks have got to feel good that they're still going to be here, they're going to continue to produce and it's behind them," he says.
The plant employs more than 2,000 people.
