Woman Hospitalized After Fayetteville Car Accident

Authorities say a car struck a red light camera that later fell onto the roof of the vehicle.

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Fayetteville police are investigating a wreck that left a woman in the hospital.

Investigators said the accident happened at around 2 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Bragg Boulevard and Sycamore Dairy Road.

Police said the car struck a red light camera. The camera then fell onto the roof of the car.

Emily May, 24, who was a passenger in the car, is in critical condition at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

The car's driver, Danielle Polumbo, 20, was arrested and charged with DWI.
