Both news articles state critical condition. However, both facebook sites dedicated to Emily show she passed yesterday. The phone call I received from a friend at NC State, said she has passed.

I've attempted to call the hospital without any luck.

I'm all the way out in california and have no reliable source. I only speak with Emily online, and haven't done so in a few months.I've had mixed emotions about this situation since the phone call yesterday, but I'd really like some reliable information.

PLEASE : Do not post rumors.

According to the hospital @ 5:27pm 5/18/07 she's in surgical intensive care.

Emily passed away today after donating her organs to help as many people as possible. She was a beautiful girl inside and out. Please keep her family in your prayers during this difficult time.

Just to let eveyone no who is concerned about Emily that she has not passed away but is still in critical condition. The Doctors are saying it is probably just a matter of time. So if you believe in a higher power it is time to take Emily in your prayers and ask for intervention.

This is a very traggic event. Thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of all involved.

With all the complaints of the red light cameras, this is another example of how they can impact saftey. Maybe Emily doesn't die if that redlight camera isn't there. Red light cameras are just a revenue generator and nothing more. (please note I am in no way diminishing the fact that they were driving while intoxicated). Its obvious that the red light camera was not secured properly to prevent it from falling in an accident. Accidents at intersections are not rare and IMO these either need to be moved to where they are not right on top of the intersections or removed all together!

Does anyone know the health condition on Emily? I see the report says 'Critical Condition,' but I was hoping for an update.

This is crushing news, Emily is a wonderful person.

My prayers are with her and her family.

It was the camera falling through the roof that injured the passenger. Please keep in mind that BOTH women proceeded to enter the car, even though the driver was drunk. Please keep in mind that though this is a very sad loss, both young women were drinking. Though the driver was underage, they both should have been more responsible in their decision to drive. Both entered the car knowing that atleast the driver was drunk- maybe even the passenger.
