More than 21% of North Carolina's four-year-olds enrolled in the state's pre-kindergarten programs during the 2022-2023 school year, up from the prior year but still below the state's pre-pandemic highs, according to the National Institute for Early Education Research.

<b>RALEIGH</b> — Triangle fraternities and sororities will be taking center stage Friday night at a regional step show competition.

The competition at Dorton Arena starts at 8 p.m and includes  Greeks atUNC,Shaw,St. Aug's,North Carolina A&Tand other schools.

The winning team will receive $1,000, butThe United Negro College Fundwill also be a winner. Part of the proceeds will go toward helping more minority students receive a college education.

College students get in for $8.  The charge is $10 for everyone else.
