Vance County Boy Celebrates First Birthday Without His Missing Mother

Posted Updated

VANCE COUNTY — A little boy is about to celebrate his first birthday -- without his mother.

The Vance County woman disappeared almost a month ago and investigators are still searching for clues in the case.

Angie Marie Griffin, 24, was last seen taking her child, Logan, to the babysitter. She said she would be back in a hour-and-a-half, but never returned.

Now, Logan's father, Troy Stainback, and Angie's family are desperate.

"It is hard giving her child his party when you know she is supposed to be here," Dianne Griffin, Angie's mother, said. "This is a small area, and someone here knows something, so it is time for them to come forward."

Vance County Sheriff Thomas Breedlove says any little bit of information can be a big help.

"They may have seen the missing lady, and think that it is immature to the case, but it may be the part of the puzzle that we need," Breedlove said.

Dianne Griffin says she feels in her heart that she is coming home.

"That is what I feel, and I am not going to lose that faith," Griffin said.

Detectives say they have not found any evidence of criminal activity, but they are treating this as a criminal case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vance County Sheriff Department.
