911 Service Restored in Clayton
Crews have restored 911 service to Clayton residents. Service was interrupted Monday evening after a car accident cut two fiber-optic lines and two copper phone lines.

CLAYTON, N.C. — Crews restored 911 service Tuesday morning to Clayton residents following a service interruption Monday evening.
A car accident near the intersection of North Lombard and East Front streets cut two fiber-optic lines and two copper phone lines at around 5:40 p.m., causing the outage.
Embarg officials said as many as 2,000 phone customers lost service.
With phone service out, Clayton police increased patrols in the area. Those in need of emergency assistance had been urged to use cell phones or go to the Clayton Fire Station.
