RDU INTERNATIONAL — After two years and millions of dollars,RDU Internationalfinally opened its 2,700-space parking deck on Thursday.
The parking deck is equipped with high ceilings, glass elevators and security lights. The big question is whether it will save time or money.
It takes approximately two minutes to travel from Level 2 of the parking deck to Terminal A. Taking the shuttle at Park and Ride 4 and traveling to Terminal A takes approximately 10 minutes.
However, the new convenience will cost more money.
The new garage costs $6 a day for long-term parking while Park and Ride 4 costs $3 a day. Short-term parking at the new deck costs $1 an hour.
The last floor of the parking deck should be open by the summer.
