BEAVERDAM — Authorities say they have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a Raleigh man whose body was found in Cumberland County Saturday.
Michael Calvin LaFrance Jr., 20, of 4208 Lot 28 on New Bern Avenue in Raleigh, was arrested Monday for murder.
Loggers discovered the body of 46-year-old Richard Parker along Ruth Vinson Road near the town of South River.
There are indications that Parker and LaFrance knew each other, and police said a fight might have led to the death of the victim.
An autopsy will be performed in Chapel Hill to determine the cause of death.
