WILSON — To the delight of kids and parents, Wilson's science museum is open again. Two months ago, Imagination Station was hit by an extensive fire.
Imagination Station opened its doors for the first time Monday in a temporary location on West Nash Street.
The new facility is smaller, but houses many of the same exhibits including several additions to the tropical animal collection.
"We are ready to welcome all of the kids throughout eastern North Carolina back to Imagination Station. We really appreciate everyone's patience as we've been putting it back together and look forward to everyone coming back to visit us," says marketing director Steve Peterson.
Donations helped the Museum reopen, but the staff says they still have a lot of work to do at the permanent site.
They hope construction there will be completed by the fall.
