FAYETTEVILLE — Police believe one or two men kidnapped a 12-year-old girl along Bragg Boulevard Friday night and took her to the Tropical Motel, where she may have been sexually assaulted.
Police say they were called to the motel just before 8 a.m. Saturday morning. They say they found the traumatized girl inside Room 67. They are not saying who contacted them or how they discovered the girl.
They believe she was sexually assaulted, and she was immediately taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where she is being treated. They say they have two male suspects at this point, and they are searching for them. They also say both suspects could face assault and kidnapping charges, at a minimum.
Police are being very quiet about the case since it involves a 12-year-old girl.
