DURHAM — A warm weather outing at Falls Lake turned deadly for a 19-year-old swimming with his friends.
Durham deputies say Enrico Blanco nearly drowned when he and two friends jumped into the water, fully clothed, and tried to swim across the cove.
The area was off-limits for swimming, and the water temperature was just 50 degrees.
Blanco died Thursday morning at Durham Regional Hospital.
