RALEIGH — There is one man who has helped define the atmosphere at theCIAA Tournament. In fact, he is known as Mr. CIAA.
His tailor-made suits and flamboyant style attract the type of attention reserved for celebrities.
"They always look forward to seeing me," says Mr. CIAA.
Mr. CIAA has been making fashion statement at the tournament since the 1960s. What started as a gag to get people's attention is now as much a part of the tournament as basketball.
"He just makes his way in, goes in the bathroom and pulls a Superman," says Chester Davis, a CIAA fan. "He comes back out, dressed in all of the different colors of the teams in the CIAA."
Fans may want to watch out for Mr. CIAA at the CIAA fashion show on Friday at noon.
