Vehicle Catches Fire on I-40

RALEIGH — Traffic managed to flow well on I-40, despite a vehicle fire that began during the noon hour.

Firefighters arrived to bring the blaze under control.

Officials say no one was in the vehicle, and there is no indication yet of what caused the fire.

The vehicle was along the shoulder of the road near the Aviation Parkway exit.

The owner's name has not been released.

The fire was shown by DOT cameras, which are stationed at various points along the road. The image was rebroadcast by WRAL-TV5.
