Sunny Weather Inspires Spring Planting

Experts say now is the perfect time to fertilize your lawn and plant flowers like pansies. Even cool weather vegetables, including broccoli and sweet peas, are fine for this time of year. But be careful -- spring has not sprung just yet.

"I would not want to push planting any plants that might not make the rest of the winter," says Capitol Broadcasting Horticulturist Gil Decker. "We are going to have some cold weather coming again soon. You can count on that."

If you do plant too much too soon, you may find yourself repeating yardwork in a few months.
